GOD's LITTLE LAMBS PRE-SCHOOL
About Us
God's Little Lambs Pre-school (and Learning Centre)
-
Operates from its own premises situated in Kingfisher Road, Tumbleweed, Howick, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. This is a semi-rural township close to an established town, Howick. The Pre-school was officially opened on Saturday, 8th November 2007. The pre-school now includes a crêche and caters for children from 2 to 5 years old.

Goats and chickens roaming the streets are a familiar sight. Unemployed youths gather on street corners. The housing consists of simple basic tiny houses made either from concrete blocks and plank or corrugated iron shacks. Many of the parents live below the basic living wage and/or are unemployed and are on social grants.
-
Some households are child headed or have single parents and others have a grandmother taking care of little ones. One grandmother near the school lives in a two roomed plank shack and has ten children living there. In the past we had a nearly blind grandfather of 101 supporting a teenage mother and her daughter, Melokuhle. The good news is that Melo is very bright and loves school. Her mother is now studying computers and is determined to provide for her daughter once she has qualified.
